Dr Georgina Cunningham is an FRACP accredited gastroenterologist with a specialist interest in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and functional gut disorders. She graduated with honours from Monash University in 2010 and completed her advanced training in gastroenterology at St Vincent’s Hospital and Monash Health. She currently holds a staff specialist position at Monash Health, and sees patients publicly in the IBD clinic there.
Georgina undertook a fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals London from 2018-2019. There, she held the position of Senior Clinical Fellow and also undertook research into the use of biologic medications, as well as assisting with a number of commercial trials focusing on upcoming, innovative therapies in inflammatory bowel disease.
Georgina has an interest in all areas of gastroenterology and aims to provide thorough, personalized and evidence-based care to all her patients. She is available for consultation in Surrey Hills and performs gastroscopies and colonoscopies at Epworth Eastern Hospital, Box Hill. She has also embarked on bowel ultrasound training that she hopes will add a unique component to her practice in the near future.
